End of Summer Camping Trip

Our next camping trip will be over the Labour Day long week. The date range is from Friday August 29 to Sunday September 7 (10 day range). Like the previous camping trip, you will book your own site for any number of days around or between those listed here.

To make a reservation you need an account at BC Parks. The booking window is 4 months ahead of your arrival date and opens at 7 am. If you’re not familiar with the BC Parks reservation system, you should create an account, sign in, and become familiar with it.

The reservations are made in real-time so you will need a credit card to complete a reservation. Click here for all the information.

A member suggested we go to Okanagan Lake Park - North Campground just outside of Summerland. We have not been there so thought we’d try it.

It is located on Highway 97 between Peachland and Summerland. This campground is laid out in a series of three terraces overlooking Okanagan Lake. The campsite pads are gravel and have fire rings and picnic tables. Wide, well packed trails lead to pit toilets and in between the terraces and to a shower house.

We would like to book sites near the parking lot and swimming area if possible or close to that area.

Some of the things to do in and around the park:

• Short hiking trail to the south campground
• Water fun: swimming, canoeing, kayaking, paddleboarding
• Cycling (e-bikes are not allowed on the trails with the park)
• Golf: There are several courses in the area closer to Penticton
• Wine: There are several wineries nearby
